Hazeldene provides a safe space for families to undergo parenting assessment with a placement lasting up to 12 weeks. Each family is offered a bespoke package of support and direct work that aims to meet individual family’s needs. Over the last year, we have been able to incorporate even more sessions for families, including:

  1. Baby Massage – promoting attachment between child and parent through touch.
  2. Gro Brain – interactive and visual learning about child brain development.
  3. Freedom Programme – providing knowledge of signs and tactics of abusers as well as the impact domestic abuse has on children.
  4. Lego Therapy Sessions – aid in better communication between families
  5. Rolling weekly group sessions – covering a range of topics including childhood health, personal hygiene, and safer sleeping.

The charity have also been able to make some great links with the local community. Thus providing even more for the families we work with. This includes a local church that provides weekly baby groups. Fortunately, we also donate welcome packs with food samples, toiletries and some baby essentials for new arrivals.

Fareshare is another charity that we have links with. They provide surplus food goods from local supermarkets to charitable causes.Father reading a book to a baby on his lap
